If time permits, set out for a guided jungle walk inside Nameri National Park, where hornbills, butterflies, and the rustling forest create the perfect welcome to the wild Northeast.
After breakfast, start your drive towards Dirang (160 km / 5–6 hrs), a charming valley town surrounded by orchards and hills. En route, visit the Tipi Orchidarium, home to over 7500 varieties of orchids, and take a short break at the refreshing Nichifu Waterfall. Evening at leisure by the Dirang River, soaking in the crisp mountain air.

Today’s drive is the crown jewel of the trip. Ascend towards the legendary Sela Pass (13,700 ft) on your way to Tawang (135 km / 6–7 hrs), where snow-capped peaks, prayer flags, and turquoise lakes welcome you into mystical Arunachal. En route, pay respects at the heroic Jaswant Garh War Memorial and pause at the stunning Nuranang (Jang) Waterfall. By evening, arrive at Tawang—land of monasteries and legends.

On your way back, visit the pristine Madhuri Lake (Shungatser Lake), named after the Bollywood film Koyla that was shot here, and the serene PTso Lake, surrounded by alpine meadows. Both lakes offer mesmerizing reflections of the mountains and are perfect for photography.
